ows1. Review body of water for conditions-current, waves, animal life
2. Inform and inquire with life guard if possible
3. Choose type of stroke for water conditions
4. Start at easy pace
5. Sight every 10-12 strokes
6. Keep head low in water
7. Breathe using unilateral and bilateral techniques
8. Be realistic with goal distance
9. Combine other strokes for 10% of the swim
10. Have fun
